Kaante Hindi Movie Online

After almost a year of delays, Sanjay Gupta´s long-awaited Kaante has finally hit the big screen. The question audiences have is obvious; was it worth the wait? And the answer is a resounding yes! Kaante offers an irresistibly fun movie-going experience.

Oddly enough, despite being heavily inspired from a number of American heist flicks, Kaante is still a progressive piece for Indian cinema. This is mainly because it succeeds where recent films have faltered; it successfully applies India´s all-inclusive masala formula to the sensibilities of a modern audience.

Hordes of films have been failing left, right, and center in their attempts to cram in all the demands made of India´s escapist pictures into one film. The old cookie-cutter plots with inane comedy, romantic, and action interludes have not aged well. Instead, their constant recycling by India´s filmmakers has resulted in atrocities such as Karz, Annarth, and Maseeha.

But Kaante puts a whole new, and very welcome, spin on things. The director takes a back seat, and allows plot, characterization, and action to glide through Bollywood´s escapist over-the-top conventions. And the results are nothing short of awe-inspiring. Kaante is the first grand and contemporary Indian commercial pot-boiler.

The narrative involves six Indians living abroad with shady criminal pasts brought together by police investigators who are convinced that one of them has stolen a truck full of laptop computers. The six meet up in a jail cell and decide they will strike back at the cops by robbing the bank where the cops´ pay comes from.

The characters have some desperate circumstances that require them to take up the job. Major (Amitabh Bachchan) needs to get money to fly his terminally sick wife (Rati Agnihotri) back to India. Marc (Suneil Shetty) needs to get enough money to support his dancer girlfriend Lisa (Malaika Arora) and get her away from the stripper-life. Andy (Kumar Gaurav) needs money to fight a court case against his estranged wife who won´t let him see his son. Ajju (Sanjay Dutt) is in the deal for the manic thrill, and Bali (Mahesh Manjrekar) and Mak (Lucky Ali) are in it to pay off thugs and strippers that they owe money.

So the men pull off the robbery after minute planning, but when they prepare to make their escape they are ambushed by the Los Angeles Police Department. The six make their escapes in separate ways and meet up again in an abandoned warehouse. There, they try to figure out which member of the crew tipped off the police.

Every track in the plot flows as seamlessly and naturally as one can imagine. None of the tracks are forced and each character and storyline maintains a constant level of conviction. Unlike most Bollywood entertainers, there are no comedy sketches that stick out like sore thumbs or boy-and-girl dancing through trees routines. In Kaante, the comedy comes naturally from the dialogs (Mahesh Manjrekhar and Sanjay Dutt are hilarious at times), the glamour is built in and not tacked on (Isha Koppikar and Malaika Arora are quite relevant to the plot), and the action is not pedestrian and archaic in presentation.

It is this successful integration of Bollywood conventions into a completely unorthodox storyline and presentation that makes Kaante outstanding in the context of Indian commercial cinema. The film is from an unlikely genre, it was shot abroad on an international scale, it is consistent in plot and tone, but still caters to audiences exceptionally well.

Kaante also deserves a special mention in the "look and feel" department. This is definitively the best film ever made in Bollywood when it comes down to technical wizardry. The style of editing is extremely flashy and fits the ambience of the film like a glove. The action scenes are very well coordinated and extremely well shot. The camera work is innovative and consistent throughout. The background music sounds like the score of a Hollywood blockbuster and the special effects are not far off from that standard either. And the song and dance numbers have been edited to create sequences that have much less in common with other Hindi films and much more so with MTV music videos. Viscerally, Kaante is aptly stylish and one of the best calculated and executed films out of India ever.

Sanjay Gupta is no brilliant filmmaker, but he certainly deserves applause for a job well done here. He adds his own style to the shots and manages to keep the overall piece different from the Hollywood originals he has copied. He also deserves applause for handling a number of tense sequences remarkably well, such as the bank robbery and the gun fight that follows it immediately after.

Performances are brilliant from all the lead players. Sanjay Gupta is the rare Indian director who realizes an ensemble cast doesn´t mean one or two leads with famous actors playing supporting roles. Each lead character is given an equally weighted role to play here, and the men compliment each other perfectly. There is no one show stealer, but that´s not to say that everyone involved hasn´t done stellar work.

Amitabh Bachchan is superb in his role, as expected. He overflows with style but manages to keep his character vulnerable and human. He is perfectly cast as the brilliant, desperate, forceful and towering leader of the pack.

Sanjay Dutt is incredible as well. He plays his character with a disturbing undercurrent of insanity and the result is one of the best performances of the year.

Mahesh Manjrekar is excellent. In fact, he steals some of the best scenes in the film. As a reckless drug addict, he is both side-splittingly funny and touchingly emotional.

Suneil Shetty is in his element once again, after a number of terrible performances, and reminds everyone that he is a performer to be reckoned with. His coolly reserved performance hits all the right notes, and he becomes one of the most sympathetic characters by the film´s end.

Lucky Ali is powerful once again after Sur. He doesn´t mouth many dialogs, but his body language and mysterious eyes always make his presence felt. Kumar Gaurav is also impressive, especially considering he hasn´t been acting for a decade or so.

Supporting artists are alright. Malaika Arora is stunningly gorgeous in her dance numbers and scenes, and manages to evoke emotion in the few scenes she shares with Suneil. Rati Agnihotri is proficient, but has very little screen time. If there is one bad performance in the film, it comes from Gulshan Grover. He overacts and hams in all his scenes, and his repetitive name-calling of Suneil Shetty´s character very quickly grates on audience nerves. Isha Koppikar is great in her dance number appearance.

But all this is praise is not to say that Kaante doesn´t have its share of flaws. It has a number of them, in fact.

Sanjay Gupta falters as a director in parts. He clearly didn´t know where to draw the line when it came to action scenes and flashy sequences, and the movie sometimes spirals out of control as a result. Pacing is very deficient. Some unnecessary sequences that do little more than showcase standard Hollywood technical effects go on for far longer than they should, and slow the film down to a near snail pace. This is likely the biggest thorn in Kaante´s side; it drags in times where it should be moving at breakneck speed.

Also the screenplay, an amalgamation of a number of Hollywood films, has a few glaring plot holes and illogical sequences. Why do the men use their guns for target practice in an open area, firing off of a rooftop in Los Angeles? Why do they fret about killing a single cop in the warehouse when they have just downed twenty or so at the bank? How can they walk around in the open without fear just minutes after the robbery? Aren´t the cops still looking for them? Hasn´t the media been alerted? Lastly, there´s hardly a drop of originality to be found anywhere in the movie. If Kaante deserves to be panned for anything, it´s the derivative plot. The first half of the plot is copied from Brian Singer´s The Usual Suspects, where a crew of robbers decides to work together after being falsely accused of stealing a truck. The second half is copied almost scene for scene and dialog for dialog from Quentin Tarantino´s Reservoir Dogs. The lack of originality is so blatant and shameless, it is almost compelling enough to completely down-rate the film; the plot is copied, the characters are copied, and even the dialogs have been lifted in parts. One wishes an Indian picture shot this well, with so many top-notch actors and featuring such great use of resources would at least feature an original storyline.

But even though Kaante is highly derivative cinema, it represents a step in the right direction for Bollywood. The technical finesse featured in the film is almost on par with the average Hollywood feature, and hopefully Indian producers will take notice and try to emulate the level of style and control over ambience exhibited here. The plot is unorthodox as well, and if this movie fares well at the box office, it may pave the way for future nonconformist ventures by Indian filmmakers.

Overall, Kaante is well worth the wait and a must-watch for those who have kept their faith in Indian cinema despite a truly lackluster year. This is a bombastic, furious picture that has only one goal; that is, to thrill audiences and keep them glued till the last frame. And the film manages to accomplish this feat remarkably well. Kaante is everything a masala movie should be; it packs the whole smorgasbord of Bollywood conventions - romance, dances, glamour, comedy, drama - into one fun-filled, action-packed, polished joy-ride of a film.

Hawas Hindi Movie Online

Hawas - It is a joke packaged as sleaze

Off Meghna Naidu goes in search of lust and adventure on the streets of Dubai where she conveniently runs into ramp-walker Tarun Arora who offers her medicine for a scratched knee and then antidote for her other wound -- boredom because of a workaholic husband.

With dumb and dumber both in her bed now, Meghna has nowhere to go except down.

Delineating the lustful downfall of a bored housewife, "Hawas" falls to its knees and stays there cringing and moaning for attention. Alas, the hot subject and the promise of a dirty picture-show fall as flat as they did in the other recent films like "Oops" and "Tum".

The problem with this salacious stab at the theme of adultery is so deep-rooted that you don't know whether to laugh or cry, as director Karan Razdan attempts to frame the housewife as a wanton lust seeker and victim. In both capacities, Meghna fails miserably.

As for her two amorous interests, what were the film's makers thinking while signing them on? It's hard to say anything that isn't unkind or about the male stars.

Shawar Ali as the wronged husband looks scruffy, gawky and plainly unfit for stardom. As for Tarun Arora, if you've seen Olivier Martinez seduce Diane Lane in Adriane Lyne's "Unfaithful", you'll perhaps forgive Tarun's performance as a grotesque parody of the original.

For those who haven't seen the original, there's news.

"Hawas" copies not just the basic idea but also individual sequences, including that notorious chunk of cheesy voyeurism where the adulterous wife, while in a café with her friends, takes a break from coffee for a bit of raunchy sex with her toy-boy in the loo.

While Diane Lane and Martinez looked ravishing doing their raunchy ride, Meghna and Tarun behave as though they're locked together on a treadmill that's gone amok.

A mockery of every aesthetic rule in the book of filmmaking, "Hawas" stuns you senseless with its absurdities. Too clumsy to be taken seriously as a study of female infidelity and too puny to qualify as porn, "Hawas" is nothing but an unintended joke packaged in a flavourless sleaziness.

The film leaves you with a bad taste, like chewing gum that's been left in the mouth for too long. Apart from the three main players in the pathetic passion play not a single character is developed in the plot.

Once the lover is eliminated by the husband - exactly like Richard Gere did in the original - the director puts his leading lady in a black sari to do a full-blown martyr's act.

Did she enjoy the purple nights with the assassinated lover-boy? Of course not! Nice Indian housewives don't even think about such things!

"Hawas" is a nightmare. Do yourself a big favour. Watch Meghna Naidu in the "Kaliyon ka chaman" music video remix. And then watch Diane Lane in "Unfaithful". And please save yourself the trouble of watching the re-mix queen getting mixed up with a subject that she, and her director, are incapable of handling.

Lucky Hindi Movie Online

Lucky - No Time For Love - beautifully mounted, but vacuous at heart

Love is a grave matter in "Lucky - No Time For Love". A lot of the romance between 40-year-old Salman Khan and 19-year-old Sneha Ullal takes place in a Russian graveyard as riots break out all over a city.

Riot on! Gabriel Gracia Marquez got there first in "Love During The Time Of Cholera". Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru's sweet but finally unproductive concoction is a let down.

Sure, the film looks good with Sudeep Chatterjee's cinematography capturing a sweeping arch of violence over the snow-capped landscape.

It even sounds good. But it has no heart. It pretends hard, but finally ends up being as inspiring as a Valentine's Day card bought from a posh departmental store.

There's a skin-deep aesthetic appeal to the presentation, contoured and accentuated by Adnan Sami's dreamy songs and Monty's background music. But the film is finally felled by its own wispiness.

Efforts to imbue an epic grandeur to the romance - especially towards the end with sequences of a snow-stormed train taking away truckloads of migrants that almost mimics Steven Spielberg's "Schindler's List" - fail for the lack of a grounded premise.

The plot should have been about a schoolgirl's crush on an older man. It should have been akin to Hrishikesh Mukherjee's "Guddi". Instead, it goes into the echoes of Yash Chopra's "Lamhe" where a girl old enough to be a daughter woos and finally wins the middle-aged hero.

With Salman Khan looking 35-plus and the girl heart breakingly vulnerable and callow, the film chooses to turn the initial crush into a passionate man-woman affair.

The premise of a schoolgirl falling in love with an old man escorting her through a troubled hinterland is exciting. But that the man should reciprocate her feelings is a bit hard to digest.

Beautifully mounted, but vacuous at heart, "Lucky..." is one of those could-have-been films that stops short before the journey gathers momentum.

Milap Jhaveri's dialogues depend more on Salman Khan's cocky image than the inherent romantic overtures of the theme.

"If I eat any more I'd end up like Adnan Sami," quips Khan. And when in the graveyard the schoolgirl lisps, "I'm not that type of a girl," Khan guffaws, "I've heard that line before".

Trouble is, all the lines and emotions associated with Salman Khan's romantic image here are transposed into a gawky alliance with a girl who doesn't know any better, and a man who should.

"Lucky..." simply lets the man and the woman trudge though snow and fluff until we feel enough is enough.

Mithun Chakravarty's prolonged efforts to play a cop and charlatan with a penchant for mouthing cinematic cliches falls short of expectations. The rest of the cast is marginalized by ill-written roles.

"Lucky..." isn't without assets.

It wears a polished look and exudes a glittering grandiosity. The song "Shayad Yehi To Pyar Hai" lends music to the film's soul. But it comes too late.

Dennis Quaid stars as a bitter, washed out widower in SMART PEOPLE, a film that tackles the lives of several seriously unhappy people in surprisingly funny and touching ways. A hated literature professor at Carnegie Mellon, Lawrence Wetherhold has been earning the scorn of his students, colleagues, and family since the death of his wife several years ago. The only person on his side is his teenage daughter Vanessa (Ellen Page), whose loyalty and similarities to her father belie her tender age. Between running the Young Republicans club and aiming for a perfect SAT score, the over-achieving high school student knows no life beyond the insular world of family. When the film begins, the family dynamics are well established, with Lawrence merely going through the motions of his life, unable to muster up any passion for parenting or even his literary expertise. It takes a seizure, an unexpected visit from his adopted brother (Thomas Haden Church), and a new romantic interest (Sarah Jessica Parker) to shake things up and stir Lawrence from his constant misery. Driven by a clever script and fine performances, SMART PEOPLE is set in the land of academia, a place where both Lawrence and Vanessa have taken refuge and plunged themselves into as escape from the external world. In spite of their high IQs, both father and daughter are equally clueless when it comes to navigating relationships. This becomes obvious as Vanessa develops a line-blurring relationship with her uncle, and Lawrence stumbles in romancing his doctor. If Vanessa wants a shot at happiness and Lawrence wants to make things work in his love life, both will have to adopt new attitudes or risk further alienation. Church is hilarious as Chuck, Lawrence's adopted slacker brother, adding a funny but heartfelt element to the otherwise serious film.

Nenu Pelliki Ready Telugu Movie Online

Story

Gopi (Srikanth) is pressurized by his grand parents to get married. But Gopi wants to make sure that there is compatibility with the girl he is going to marry. Hence, he approaches a marriage bureau and selects the profiles of three girls and meets them as a friend. These three girls are Savitri (Anitha) - a freelancing journalist, Bhavana (Laya) - a classical danseuse and Neha (Vidya) - a bank employee. Subsequently, all these three girls fall in love with Gopi and want to marry him. Gopi wants to get rid of these three girls now. Entire second half revolves around how Gopi gets rid of them and incidentally lends his marriage hand to the owner of marriage bureau Priya (Sangeeta).

Artists Performance

Srikanth is competent as the lover of 4 girls. He looks fresh and acted with ease. Laya is traditional as classical dancer. Anitha is fair. Vidya is not impressive in traditional get-up (unlike her role in Ammailu Abbailu). Sangeeta is restricted to a few scenes role. Its another drunkard role for MS Narayana. Jeeva is good as suspecting circle inspector. Sunil is OK. But the whining sound he produces while laughing is becoming redundant these days (Ela Cheppanu, Tagore and Nenu Pelliki Ready).

Technical Departments:

Story: Story of the film is about 4 girls loving a guy at the same time. These kinds of films used to be of Jagapathi Babu's choice (Allari Premikudu, Chilakkottudu and Moodu Mukkalaataa). All these three films failed at box office. Its really surprising thing to see why the makers took up the same kind of story which was tested negative at BO.

Screenplay - direction: Venky - whose debut film Kabaddi Kabaddi was a blockbuster - directed this film. If Kabaddi Kabaddi dealt with village humor, this film has city backdrop. Though director tried making this film a hilarious fare by inserting lots of comedy in it, he could not built the much needed tempo in narration. There is one basic flaw in the story of the film. The hero wanted to select a girl who has got good looks, attitude and emotional compatibility. And when three girls fall in love with hero, he avoids them by marrying another girl. In this story, director did not show any reason why hero rejects these three girls. All three girls love him and they are not bad at all. Screenplay of the film is slow and unnecessary footage is given to certain scenes.

Other departments: Music by Chakri is good. But re-recording is mediocre. Songs are scored well. The picturization is also good. Dialogues by Sateesh are decent. Camera work by Amar is good. RPG Combines that produced Uday Kiran's 'Kalusukovalani' presented this film. Tammareddy Bharadwaj produced it.

Analysis: First half of the film is average and second half is really slow. The director concentrated more on comedy and less on strength of the story and narration. 2nd film failure syndrome is running high for directors. Almost all directors (except for a very few like Jayant C Paranji and SS Raja Mouli) got affected by this syndrome. Its appears that Venky also might get affected by it.

Gudumba Shankar Telugu Movie Online

Story

Gudumba Shankar (Pawan Kalyan) is an orphan. He is a smalltime ruffian who makes his living by cheating people. On his way to Hyderabad, he accidentally meets Gowri (Meera Jasmine). Both of them are forced to travel together. A few more incidents make them good friends. Then Shankar realizes that Gowri is a girl who ran away from her house. By then, they start having feelings for each other.

Local goon Kumara Swamy (Asish Vidyardhi) wants to marry Gowri forcibly, which is why she runs away from the home. Kumara Swamy finds out Gowri and takes her back to the house. Kumara Swamy is extremely superstitious and he heavily depends on the astrology of Parabrahma Swamy (Brahmanandam). Shankar blackmails Parabrahma Swamy and joins the wedding house as the wedding planner along with Ali and two other buddies. The rest of the story is all about how Shankar tricks Kumara Swamy so that he could marry Gowri.

Artists Performance

Pawan Kalyan: Pawan Kalyan single handedly managed the entire show. He concentrated on comedy aspect a lot as 80% of his part in the film is comedy. Pawan Kalyan effectively used his typical Srikakulam slang at times. Pawan Kalyan looks pretty eccentric and maverick with a headband and with a body language of extreme recklessness. This kind of recklessness was mastered by Johnny Depp in 'Pirates of Caribbean: The curse of the black pearl'. After the 3rd song is over, Pawan Kalyan's body language changes into normal one. He dances with lot of vigor. Pawan Kalyan is exceptionally hilarious in the following three scenes -

1. Pawan Kalyan treating his Scorpio vehicle (which he fondly calls as Bangaram) like a close relative and mourning as if a close relative is dead and then cursing the people who caused the damage.
2. The scene in which Pawan Kalyan creates rift between villain (Asish Vidyardhi) and villain's friend (Sayaji Shinde).
3. The scene in which he imitates different heroes.

Others: Meera Jasmine looks demure in this film and did pretty well. And her costumes make her look little obese. She dubbed her voice. Though sounds fresh, her dubbing is artificial. Asish Vidyardhi is OK for the role of bakra villain. Rajan P Dev did a character of an insane man. Venu Madhav, Sunil, Brahmanandam, Ali and Jyothi are adequate. Kota Srinivasa Rao did a small role.

Technical Departments:

Story: Story of the film is wafer thin. The basic storyline has the shades of Hindi film 'Dilwale Dulhania Lejayenge'. The first half is about hero and heroine (both on run) getting to know each other well and falling in love. Second half is about how tactfully hero steals heroine from the clutches of the bakra groom.

Screenplay - direction: It is extremely important for any filmmaker to narrate the film with good screenplay when there is no strong story. Screenplay of this film is incoherent. Direction of the film is inconsistent. The director tried to narrate the wafer-thin story in lighter vein by using humor. But, the director failed to create the much needed feel of falling in love between the lead pair. Narration of the film is slow.

Music: Songs of the film are an asset. Background music is ok.

1. Le le le: This song is an inspirational song that revolts against child labor, eve teasing and dirty politics. Pawan Kalyan did Michael Jackson style of steps (pounding walk). Pawan wore a single costume throughout the song.
2. Killi Killi: Killi song is a mass song. But Pawan Kalyan tried to have some punk steps to suit his maverick characterization in the first half. Natanya Singh played the dhaba belle.
3. Chiguraku Chatu: This song is picturized in New Zealand. This melodious song strikes the chord with the public. Picturization of the song is also good.
4. Emantaro: Generally we do expect this song to be shot in outdoors by exploring the tender love feelings between lead pair. But this song is canned in house set with guests all around.
5. Chitti Nadumu: This song is simply terrific in terms of every aspect. The placement is good. Choreography is good. Theme is good. Lyrics are good. More over, this song would be liked by both masses and classes equally well. The rap 'comon comon' created furor in the theater with excited movie lovers expressing their joy. Pawan Kalyan danced with gay abandon in this song.
6. Chilakamma Mukkuki: This is a situational song which comes up when Pawan Kalyan makes groom (villain) a bakra while dancing with bride.

Other departments: Dialogues of the film are pretty casual and sometimes rub you in the wrong way. Camerawork by Chota K Naidu is good. But there is a bit of inconsistency with the lighting of the film (probably it has to do something related to post-production activities like color grading). Editing is OK. Choreography by Raju Sundaram, Brinda and Harish Pai is good. The stunts in this are handled by three masters - Stun Siva, Amin Ghani & Vijay. The climax fight in which Pawan Kalyan treats a log literally like a cricket bat to beat the goons black and blue is interesting, though prolonged a bit. Production values by Anjana productions are lavish.

Analysis: First half of the film suffers with poor narration and odd situations (especially series of events that happen when hero and heroine travel on the road). Second half is better as the locations and situations become familiar. The positive points of the film are comedy by Pawan Kalyan and songs. The main drawback of the film is that there is not enough substance in subject and the treatment of the film, which would make the comedy by Pawan Kalyan justified to the theme/script of the film. The romance between hero and heroine should have been handled in a much better manner. This film also lacks a powerful villain. It is a must watch film for all Pawan Kalyan fans as they can see him doing exceptionally talented comedy. The fate of the film would depend on how general audience and masses like the film.

Nani Telugu Movie Online

Naani - Kiddish and puerile

At one level, the much-hyped Nani is all about the childhood fantasy of growing up fast into the adult world. Such a theme is fraught with risk as the director and the screenplay writer has to walk the tightrope of parading kids stuff palatable to adults and vice-versa.

A palpable lift-off from the Tom Hanks hit Big, Nani fails to manage this deft act as it falls in the category of neither here nor there.

In the process, the director S J Suryah (of Kushi and Vaali fame) has also gone overboard with double-entendre dialogues (the censors, we are told, had to wield the scissors at many places and the scene involving Ramya Krishnan had to deleted as they were found to be unseemly and tasteless).

Nani (Mahesh Babu), at core is the story of an 8-year-old boy, who attempts suicide as he feels that his mother (Devayani) does not like him. As it happens, a scientist (Raghuvaran in a weirdo look) helps him and makes Nani become a 28-year-old instantly.Hereafter, the plot is predictable and tiresome.

The 8-year-old in a 28-year-old man's body lands himself a job in a toy factory (his essential boyish instincts wins him the job) and not surprisingly the toy factory's owner's daughter Priya (Amisha Patel) is head over heels in love with him.

Just as he is having a ball in the toy factory, Nani comes to know that his mother actually dotes on him and is distraught ever since he went missing. Overcome with remorse, Nani runs to the scientist to get him back to shape. The scientist does that, but there is one hitch --- Nani is an 8-year-old only in the mornings; in the nights he is a 28-year-old. You think it is funny? But in this film, it is actually irritating.

Beyond point, the humour of the situation looks forced and the double entendres get on to your nerves. In Big the director had managed to keep the innocence intact and let the film remain one for kids. In Nani, the director's folly is that he has made it for the adults. And despite the technical gloss and high production values, the film fails to rise to any great heights.

Mahesh Babu, in the eponymous role, certainly proves to be hard working. But he has failed to bring to fore the essential nuance of the character and the mental complexities of a split personality. He romps through in romantic scenes. Amisha Patel's role is well etched, but she also seems to have let slip the opportunity. She looks fetching in ravishing outfits. But that is all to her role.

Devayani as Nani's mother is more than passable. She hams a bit in certain situations, but overall she comes through the complex role. Aiswarya (with a disconcerting cigarette-smoking habit) just adds up to the number.

Raghuvaran and Nazar (Toy Factory owner) just go through their motions, as their roles are insignificant. The kids who play Nani's friend are actually good and as they have done their roles with flair and understanding. Brahmanandam, Ali and Ravi Babu's comedy is no great shakes as it is predictable. Then there is Sunil, well forget it, his antics are laboursome.

The title song featuring, Kiran Rathod, Anjala Zhaveri and Mehak, provides plenty of oomph and glamour.

The music, by A R Rehman, is a bit of a let down in the film. Said to have been recorded in London, the background score is too loud and rhythm-infested in most places. The songs, in most times indecipherable, are also not easy on the ears. Somehow, the music doesn't fit the mood of the film. Vasta Nee Venuka and Amma songs pass muster among the lot.

The photography of Guhan is stylized for most part. Though good, it sometimes becomes a strain on the yes (especially the novel camera angles and the choice of lens).

Mamma Mia English Movie Online

20-year-old Sophie Sheridan (Amanda Seyfried) lives with her doting mother Donna (Meryl Streep) on a small Greek island, where Donna runs the "Villa Donna." Sophie is going to marry Sky (Dominic Cooper), and wants her father to be present to "give her away", but does not know who he is; from Donna's diary of 20 years ago, she concludes he is one of three men Sam (Pierce Brosnan), Harry (Colin Firth), and Bill (Stellan SkarsgĂĄrd) mentioned in it; she invites all three without telling Donna or Sky, and hopes to find out who is her father. All three come. It remains unclear who is the father, and after all three are considered one-third of her father.

In the past, when Sam and Donna were together, Sam had to leave because he was engaged to another woman. Josh Hindi Movie Online

One bad thing about debuting in a movie like QSQT as a director is that all his next movies are gauged against it (story, direction and mainly the box office success). The next two movies the director gave "Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander" and "Akele Hum Akele Tum", both of which were excellent (IMHO), did not do too good at box office. So the pressure was on Mansoor Khan to deliver a good one. He went on a scripting sabbatical, announced 'Josh' four years ago and finally gave in for the pressure.

The direction fluctuates a lot in displaying a hold on the movie and the rest of the time the movie wanders like a vagabond. A lot of date hassles, fights between the lead and director and the time it took to make this movie may be the main reasons why this movie fails. But I would like to blame it on poor story development and direction.

Story:

The story takes place in a town called Vasco, which is in Goa. There are two gangs that rule the town, one of them is the Eagles and the other one is the Bichchu Gang. Max (Shahrukh) is the leader of the Eagles and Prakash (Sharadh Kapoor) is the other gangs leader. Frequent fights take place between the two groups for obvious reasons.

Max has a twin sister Shirley (Aishwarya) whom he adores and loves a lot. He beats up anyone that dares to flirt with Shirley. Enter Rahul (Chandrachur) who has just finished MBA in Bombay and wants of move to Bombay with his family. All this changes when he sees Shirley and fall for her.

After a lot of wooing Shirley starts responding to Rahul. This continues despite both knowing the rivalry between the two gangs. It becomes more serious when Prakash decides to sell of an empty land that is shared by both gangs and then takes a serious turn when everyone comes to know who the land belongs to (any guess any one?). Rest of the movie deals with this situation (and ends happily? Or not :-)

Post Mortem:

The movie is said to be losely based on the musical West Side Story (which in turn is based on Romeo and Juliet). Performance wise Chandrachur has done a good job (surprise). Others are ok. Songs get to you after a while, but the picturisation of "Mere Khayalon Ki" stands out better than others.

As a whole the movie falters and is a big let down from the director. Especially towards the end the movie becomes laughable the way it runs its course. Hope his next movies will be better.

Shakti Hindi Movie Online

Director Krishna Vamsi has put a strong dose of realism into Shakti with his authentic presentation of country life in India. He brings about a striking contrast between life in the west and life in the rugged environs of Indian countryside by focussing on the crude and unrefined behavior of the villagers.

Unlike typical Bollywood kitsch Shakti is based on a sensitive subject that explores the mother-son relationship. It goes into the heart of a foreign-bred delicate girl and shows her transition into a loving mother who would go to any limit for the love of her son.

The film boasts of several memorable moments like the murder of Nandini’s husband at the interval point, and her mother-in-law, Deepti Naval's outburst in the pre-climax scene.

Vamsi has also brilliantly executed Shahrukh’s death sequence in the second half. The scene is very emotional and almost reduces a viewer to tears.

Karisma Kapoor proves her mettle playing a complex character that keeps growing with the story. With the mien of a veteran actress she conveys the requisite emotion be it that of a vulnerable young girl or a helpless mother. Particularly her portrayal of a distraught mother fighting for her son in the latter half deserves all kudos.

Nana Patekar too shows his immense emotive range with a performance that meticulously brings about the expressions and gestures of a patriarchal despot.

However, the ‘feast for the eyes’ comes from Shahrukh Khan, who lends freshness to the serious narrative with his stylish cameo, and Aishwarya Rai, who makes appearance for a song.

Kochu Kochu Santhoshangal Malayalam Movie Online

Kochu Kochu Santhoshangal (trivial happiness), an Onam 2000 release & a malayalam. KKS is a simple story told in a honest manner, that manages to tug your heart strings, propogating the importance of personal life success in a subtle way. It was no different from any other Sathyan Anthikaud's other movies - same sex paternal love, a small Tamil character, lighter first half and sentiments laddened post interval part, but sometimes I felt KKS being slightly better than his other movies.

The story opens in Goa with young Celina (Kavya Madhavan) falling in love with Vishnu (Jayram) who is bringing up his son (Master Kalidas) single handedly. Realising her feelings Vishnu reveals his past where had eloped with a rich girl Asha (Lakshmi Gopalswamy) and blessed with a saccherine sweet marriage life until fate intervened in form of a popular danseusse Maya Varma (Bhanupriya), drafting Asha into the field of classical dance, catapulting her to fame. Asha loses her balance in personal life with new found success and fame bringing back the old relationships. Along with the baby, Vishnu leaves Asha for good but with love, hoping a rapid stride in her career. You needn't be extremely smart to guess the rest.

Even though the story travels in an oft treaded path, unfolding with predicatble incidents, what keeps you hooked on screen is the straight-out-of-life like characters whom you can easily relate with. The movie is extremely subtle that if you didn't understand the characters on screen, you will be left wondering - hey, what is happening? There is no heavy duty drama associated with so called "family entertainers" at any point of time, even in the climax. Infact extremely simple climax is the trademark of Sathyan Anthikaud.

The story lives up to the title - few small happiness. You can get that "high" / kick when you are recognised on streets, you fly in air when you get name and fame, you feel on the top of the world when you achieve professional success (All these are small happiness), but nothing is bigger than the success in your personal life and happiness in a family. Yet the movie ends with the positive note that you needn't put your talents and professional aspirations in the back burner just for the sake you are married, but you must strike a perfect balance by devoting enough quality attention to the family. Vishnu wearing the anklets on the Asha's legs towards the end symbolises the same.

Well.. don't get bogged by questions like - "Why Asha's rich and influential father didn't find out the whereabouts of Vishnu and his kid, until Maya bumps on them accidentally years later?, Is the movie limiting the professional heights that can be achieved by the married woman? What if the genders were reversed?". Somewhere I felt that overlooking these points is better for this film. Only in the period of seperation the intensity and the magnitude of true love can be realised, justifying the duration of separation. Also there is definitely a difference in deprivation of a mother's presence than of a father's. A mother's love/presence can never be overlooked or substituted.

Lakshmi Gopalswamy easily wades across the role of young girl who is lost & star struck in fame. Her dancing skills come to help for the role of a classical dancer. Playing a vulnerable, poor young man intimidated by the complex living style of rich is not an alien territory to Jayaram. Master Kalidas, real life son of actor Jayaram, makes a perfect debut in the short role. Bhanupriya as the vital link of the story looks jaded. But it was the poor heirless couple KPAC Lalitha and Mala Aravindhan, who are rich in love for each other, actually drives the message and they can be easily overlooked if you didn't notice the nuances of the screenplay.

Sathyan never tried to glamourise his movies as musicals stuffing with dance / sentiment stuffs despite having "Maestro" Illayaraja to take care of the music department. Raja Sir makes his presence felt in the mellifluous "Koda Manjnil.." song and in the scenes of heightened tension in the flashback scenes. He blunders majorly by giving the classical number to his daughter Bhavadharini, who butchers it with a bad diction. Vipin Mohan's camera just gives the feeling of peeping your next home.

On the whole - Kochu Kochu Santhoshangal might have brought "Valliya Valliya Santhoshangal" to many lives, if the message was taken correctly and in a positive light.

ThuruppuGulan Malayam Movie Online

Thuruppu Gulan - A festival amalgam

The earlier megahit of Mammootty 'Rajamanikyam’ altered some prejudices primarily in the minds of cine goers and even some film makers. It is evident that Mammootty's newly acquired images in handling comedies , has been the centerplot of all the events staged in this new flick- Thuruppughulan

As expected, Mammootty is here again as the super human hyperactive maverick, in all colors, fighting, throwing his legs to two songs, trying to be humorous and even at times mimicking himself. The actor seems to have forgotten his age and even his baseful voice that every portion of the film is dubbed to feel like a farce drama. The megastar starts the film from where he has left in the "Manikyam",more immersed in the rendition of slangs - this time that of center kerala and trying to be more fluidal in acting as well as in movements. The new maneuvers seem to have worked to some extent, but not in its fuller grace.

The story is supposed to be a full length comedy action thriller, showing threads of a Govinda-Kaadar Khan starrer of the mid nineties. The profile of the lead character Kunjumom alias Ghulan played by Mammootty is of a sharp successful gambler, goonda and street shop thattukada owner who likes to read child magazines and dreams of becoming a star dancer. He is the “everything” of Kozhikode town with friends ranging from the police to billionaires and even streetwallahs. He is forced to move with his gang to Kochi where his father Kochuthoma(Innocent) is facing a threat from the care takers of a star hotel. Kochuthoma’s thattukada which is spoiling the front elevation of the Hotel Raj Palace, is the reason for the hostility between the two. Ghulan enters the fray to clear off the mess and the hotel and how he manages to get over the propositions is the plot. In the other simultaneous track, Sneha is playing the character of Lekshmi-who is the daughter of the original owner of Raj Palace, who comes to Kerala from Singapore to sell the hotel to find money to save her father, played by Devan, who is in jail following an economic mishap. Here the hotel care takers try to demolish Lekshmi to avoid the deal and in the course she meet Kunjumon without knowing his profile. The negative lot, a lot in numbers ranging from Kalashala Baabu to Sureshkrisna join together to eliminate both and the rest is a comedy of errors.

Even though the basic plot seems to be promising, the film has lost the tempo in the second half, cluttered to become a star show

Script by Sibi.K.Thomas - Uday Krissna lacks luster and is even presented with less believability. But the festival moods all through and added masalas will definitely bring in good numbers of takers which is evident before all release centers now. All together, it is an out and out Mammmootty film - with the rest of the casts ranging from Sneha, Innocent, Kalashala Baabu, Jagathy Suraj, Harishree Ashokan and Cochin Haneef having not much to offer. The film’s music department by Alex Paul and Kaithapram is without any flavor delivering two un-hummable songs in the irascible lyrics. The film is cinematographed by Sanjeevsankar and is produced by Milan Jaleel of Galaxy Films.

The highlight of the film is the brisk pace by which the director Johny Antony passes through the events without lending time to think about the other loopy crass. The film is sure to hold masses for its wholesome entertainment, even though in weaker terms. Any way, louder applause, giggles and shouts in release centers zeal it as another film for the Mammootty’s fanship and one that will definitely continue his hit parade.

Chocolate - Shafi to repeat the success of Mayavi

Shafi' had a wonderful year so far with his Mayavi with Mammootty becoming the biggest hit of the year. He was always been the success man to have made a number of films like Kalyanaraman, Thommanum Makkalum, Pulival Kalyanam, one man show and Tamil film Majaa, which were all big hits.

Mera Saaya Hindi Movie Online

A collection of scintillating tunes, Raj Khosla’s “Mera Saaya” is probably more famous for its elegiac compositions by Madan Mohan. Not that I am placing the film itself on a lower level. “Mera Saaya” is a film where the music and story becomes one. The twists and turns in the plot serve as inspiration for the outstanding level of work in the poetry by Raja Mehdi Ali Khan

Pellikani Prasad Telugu Movie Online

one getting married to her. Pellikani Prasad shows the three main obstacles in that process – getting her to love you back, getting her father to agree to the marriage, and staying alive till the first half ends. Fans of Sivaji can come in after the first half ends, fans of Allari Naresh can leave after the first half ends, and fans of good movie-making can leave after finishing this paragraph.

Let’s get the story out of the way first. Prasad (Allari Naresh) and Saroja (Sridevi) are in love, but Saroja’s father (Raghuvaran) hates love marriages so much, he’d probably make a couple fall in love just to stop them from getting married. However, his hatred pays off in the case of Prasad, who’s too dumb to get married to anyone anyway, love or no love. He emotionally blackmails Saroja to marry another Prasad (Sivaji) against her wishes.

The second half shows a flashback between the new Prasad and Saroja – how he falls in love with her, and how he tries desperately to woo her but gets spurned continuously. Does he land her? Where does the other Prasad come in from then? Who does Saroja marry? Who all die in the end? Will that include you? Who wrote the script for this? Where does he live? To know the answers to these and more questions, you’d have to watch the movie, just like us. Remember, there are no shortcuts to success.

Okay, the movie is not a tragedy – script-wise we mean. Only, it takes such liberties with the narration, it’s basically cheating. Once the movie is over, you know that the first half is a complete conjob, with a huge chunk of it not making any sense. There’s something called effort – if you want to mislead your viewers for a large part of the movie, you need to work hard enough and be smart enough to come up with a script that covers up every scene and red herring finally. If you are too lazy or too inept to do that, you have no business expecting people to pay to watch your output.

For a comedy, the film also has pretty poor jokes most of the time. Allari Naresh and Sivaji are the only real comic faces in the film (and maybe Chitram Srinu) – this is too low-budget to even afford the economy-class Tollywood comic crew. And while the duo are talented, in the absence of good script- and dialogue-writing, they can’t do much. In fact, you have an ominous suspicion about the quality of the film in the first 10 minutes itself, with the random beginning (a song picturized on Sridevi for no rhyme or reason).

Sridevi is pretty good in what she needs to do, and so actually are Raghuvaran and the rest of the cast. The film will sink, so there’s no way any of the thoroughly ordinary songs (including the item number by Tanu Rai) will ride any tide to become popular.

Skip Pellikani Prasad for a good experience. And skip it fast, for it will leave theaters really soon.

GolMaal Hindi Movie Online

When you come across a tagline that states 'Fun Unlimited', expecting loads of laughter and entertainment is foremost on your mind. Comedy is the flavor of the season and the feeling that GOLMAAL - FUN UNLIMITED may be one of those biggies trying to capitalize on the trend does cross your mind.

Sure, GOLMAAL - FUN UNLIMITED is a comedy, but in terms of content, it's not remotely similar to the two comic capers that struck gold this year -- MALAMAAL WEEKLY and PHIR HERA PHERI. Yes, GOLMAAL - FUN UNLIMITED pursues the three golden mantras that NO ENTRY, MAINE PYAAR KYUN KIYA, GARAM MASALA and PHIR HERA PHERI followed religiously: [i] Leave your brains at home, [ii] Don't look for logic and [iii] Turn a blind eye to the cinematic liberties.

In terms of plot, GOLMAAL - FUN UNLIMITED doesn't offer path-breaking stuff, but sometimes there's more to a movie than story and this is one of those rare occasions when all the other elements pull together and lift the production. Frankly speaking, GOLMAAL - FUN UNLIMITED delivers what it promises: Enjoyable moments, amusing jokes and non-stop entertainment.

Wait, there's another reason why GOLMAAL - FUN UNLIMITED works

Comedy isn't all in the material. Having funny lines and amusing gags is only half the battle. The rest is in the delivery and that's where the actors [Ajay, Arshad, Tusshar, Sharman] excel. Some of what's found in GOLMAAL - FUN UNLIMITED is laugh-worthy also because of the way in which the actors emote and react.

To sum up, GOLMAAL - FUN UNLIMITED may not be the funniest film ever, but it qualifies as a qualitative, well-shot, thoroughly enjoyable entertainer.

The story revolves around Gopal [Ajay Devgan], Lucky [Tusshar Kapoor], Mahadev [Arshad Warsi] and Laxmi [Sharman Joshi] -- four guys bound together by their child-like notoriety, aimlessness and petty business of conning people for fun and money.

Gopal is the wisest and the wickedest of them all and the motto of his life is to eat, drink and make merry. Mahadev and Lucky are also of the opinion that only idiots work and wise men use them in more ways than one to make their life comfortable. As for Laxmi, he is sincere and God-fearing.

Due to their notorious acts, they are thrown out of college and have nowhere to go. Soon, they discover a bungalow that is inhabited by an old, blind couple [Paresh Rawal, Sushmita Mukherjee], whose son, daughter-in-law and grandson are in America.

Gopal and his friends force themselves in the bungalow and make Laxmi pretend that he's Sameer [the blind couple's grandson]. But the story doesn't end there. The four wayward guys fall in love with the same girl [Rimi Sen], suddenly discover a treasure chest and in the end, face the wrath of a gangster who lands up at the bungalow to retrieve his diamonds, which are hidden in the treasure chest.

Writer Neeraj Vora and director Rohit Shetty's fundas are clearly visible at the outset. There's no effort to present a never-seen-before story. Instead, the duo pack those 2.30 hours with gags, punches, witty one-liners and moments that make you smile/laugh from Scene A to Z. Of course, a majority of comic portions work, but there are a few blemishes that stand out.

The college professor [Manoj Joshi] works every time he appears on screen, but the local thug/money lender [Mukesh Tiwari] doesn't. This character seems unwanted/forced in the screenplay and has not much relevance with the main plot. Similarly, the love story between the four guys and the lone heroine appeals, but the villain [Anupam Shyam] isn't convincing enough. Of course, he is not the usual seething-with-anger villain, but a comical character. Yet, Vora could've made the character crazier than what he already is.

Nevertheless, there's no denying that a number of funny moments succeed in bringing the house down. Manoj Joshi's lengthy outburst when he dismisses the four guys from the college is hilarious. Another sequence that's remarkably executed is that of Sharman poisoning Ajay's tea, hoping to eliminate him. The barrage of slaps that both Sharman and Arshad receive in the process is simply maddening. Also, Manoj Joshi arriving at Paresh Rawal's house and Ajay and Arshad impersonating the old couple, with a take-off on BLACK, is another highlight. It's simply howlarious!

Also, the flashback song -- when Paresh narrates his love story and the colors change to B & W -- is a master stroke and will be loved by viewers. Ditto for the 'rape' scene [when the four good-for-nothing heroes 'save' Rimi from getting 'raped'] and also the Valentine's Day portion [Ajay presents rat poison, Sharman gifts the home-made pickle and Arshad hands over toilet paper to Rimi] are enjoyable antics.

Directorially, Rohit Shetty has not only shot the film exceedingly well, but has also concentrated on making each and every sequence thoroughly entertaining. Despite a feeble plot, Shetty and writer Neeraj Vora have ensured that the paying public gets what they seek in the film: Complete time pass entertainment. In that sphere, yes, the film rocks. Even Vora's dialogues are superb.

Vishal-Shekhar's music is decent and gels well with the mood of the film. Stunts [Jai Singh], in minimal doses, are of standard. Cinematography [Aseem Bajaj] is splendid. The film is full of vibrant colors.

The script contains enough hilarious moments to allow each member of the cast to have a chance to shine. Ajay enacts the big bully part with gusto. The actor has worked not only on his looks and physique, but also on portraying the character differently. Arshad is superb, his timing is matchless. In fact, when it comes to making you laugh, few actors can match Arshad's manic energy or consistency.

Tusshar is excellent as a mute character. The actor catches the viewer unaware with a flawless performance. Undoubtedly, this is amongst his most superior performances. Sharman Joshi is a pleasure to watch. To state that he's the most lovable character in the film wouldn't be wrong. The natural flair with which the terrific actor performs and stands out is worth lauding. Outstanding!

Paresh Rawal is in form yet again. He may not be dominating every single frame in the enterprise, but he is supremely efficient whenever he appears on screen. Ditto for Sushmita Mukherjee, who resurfaces on the big screen after a hiatus. Here's a role that does complete justice to her enormous talent. Rimi enacts the mandatory heroine part with ease.

Mukesh Tiwari doesn't really make a mark. Sanjay Mishra too is mediocre. Manoj Joshi excels in the three/four scenes that he's in. Vrajesh Hirjee evokes laughter in the 'snake fight' portion.

On the whole, GOLMAAL - FUN UNLIMITED promises laughter and entertainment unlimited. A thoroughly enjoyable fare, the film has all it takes to hit the bull's eye. This clean comedy with no vulgarity won't just make the viewers laugh with its jokes, but also make its distributors laugh all the way to the bank.
