Synopsis:
This touching film from director Praveen Nischol follows Vikram Mayur (Shahrukh Khan), a wealthy businessman, who's been raised in England by an Anglophile father who never cared much for India. Vikram's brother Hari, the black sheep of the family, moved to India many years earlier; unbeknownst to the Mayurs, he had a son, Nandu (Sunny Singh), by his Indian wife, but an accident has left the boy orphaned. He's being raised by Bijuriya (Sonali Bendre), Hari's beautiful young sister-in-law. When Vikram is informed by a lawyer of this possible heir to his business empire, he travels to India for the first time in his life. There he discovers that money cannot, in fact, accomplish everything, as Bijuria will not part with the boy she looks on as a son for any price. The longer he stays in India, the more Vikram comes to care about Bijuria and Nandu, as well as the values they embody; soon, he's faced with difficult choices about how and where to live his life.
